Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry (JIPMER) under Government of India since the year 1956, is one of the leading Medical Institutions of India. Spread over a sprawling about 192.2 acre campus in an urban locale of Puducherry (formerly Pondicherry), JIPMER is 170 kms by road from Chennai.

The exam will comprise of only multiple choice questions. All the questions asked will be based on the syllabus of Class XI and XII. The total number of multiple choice questions is 200, divided amongst English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology


- Age limit to appear in JIPMER MBBS 2017
- Candidates must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the same on or before December 31, 2017
- Candidates shoule be born or before January 1, 2001
- Any request for age relaxation will not be considered irrespective of candidates category
- There is no maximum age limit

Question Pattern

Each question will carry one mark, and there will be no negative marks for wrong answers. The exam duration is two hours

    Physics - 60 no. of questions
    Chemistry - 60 no. of questions
    Biology - 60 no. of questions
    English Language and Comprehension - 10 no. of questions
    Logical & Quantitative Reasoning - 10 no. of questions
  • Mark Distribution will be as follows:
    Physics: 240
    Chemistry: 240
    Biology: 240
    English Language and Comprehension: 40
    Logical & Quantitative Reasoning: 40
